"Streamline Feedback & Enhance Assessment in Standards Based Physical Education"  This session will explore the practical implementation of Standards Based Physical Education. Examples and additional resources will be provided for teachers to use and adapt into any program or situation. Authentic data tracking, tech tips to streamline feedback, and converting/translating SBG into a traditional grading system.
Objective One: Describe components and considerations of Standards Based Physical Education.
Objective Two: Share ideas for maximizing activity while collecting data through authentic experiences.
Objective Three: Demonstrate various ways to use technology to provide purposeful and timely feedback to students.
Your Presenter: Adam Metcalf is the 2018 Illinois Elementary Teacher of the Year. He has been teaching PreK-8 Physical Education for twelve years. He has a Masters’ Degree in Pedagogy & Curriculum Design from Northern Illinois University. Adam has presented on a wide range of topics, including Sport Ed, Teaching Games for Understanding, Classroom Management, Standards-Based Assessment, and Technology Integration.
