Chad Sweeney's "Project Fit America: Step Cup to the Plate and Move!" in Gym A

"Project Fit America: Step Cup to the Plate and Move!" Join Chad Sweeney has he provides a series of high octane, energy filled activities including "Indy 500 Cup Build,"  "Tallest Tower," and "Scooch and Crawl!" Also, Project Fit America will be donating 500 fitness cups to be given away in this session's raffle.  Chad works in Kentucky as a physical educator and serves on the board of Kentucky AHPERD.
Details: During this session, participants will work together using TCC (Teamwork, Communication 7 Cooperaton. Activities include:

*Indy 500 – Session attenders will work together to perform various fitness activities at a “fit stop” to earn fitness cups to build a race track out of the cups in shuttle style running!  Fitting activity for Grades 2-6.  Includes 5 out of 6 building blocks of fitness, strategy, social/emotional development, and leadership development!
*Tallest Tower – Session attenders will all be actively engaged at the same time while working collaboratively competing against another team to build the highest tower out of the fitness cups earned from various activities.  Fitness breaks are incorporated to ensure students remain in the game.  Great lesson for teachers to incorporate multiple core content subjects and principals to observe!  Appropriate for Grades 2-6 and can be simplified/modified to train K and 1’s for future development!
*Scooch and Crawl – This gloriously, wonderful lesson works to enhance already gained milestones of locomotor development with the youngest youngsters!  It also has variations and modifications to develop the milestones that are desired in the present moment!  Students will also develop/enhance cardiovascular strength as they participate!  Great for K’s and 1’s!  This one will surely get lots of laughs as the adults demonstrate!
